the Sadou Inn Is a beautiful sanctuary to compliment your experience of the art islands.
Restful evenings
Comfort is our top priority at the Inn, as we understand the rigors of traveling around Japan! Our futon are extremely comfortable and we offer a range of pillow styles to choose from, as we know everyone has a different preference!
We observe quiet hours from 10pm to 7am, so you are assured to get a restful sleep!
Communal spaces
Guests have the choice of enjoying their Japanese-style rooms, or mingling in the common spaces. Our living room, dining room, kitchen, and garden are available for guest use.
Traditional Garden
Inspired by “otsuki mi”, the summer tradition of moon viewing, our garden utilizes the poetry of Japanese landscaping for you to enjoy the moonrise.
BathrOOm
Our shared bathrooms include two showers, a Western-style toilet, and a traditional Japanese toilet (washiki).

We strive to create a warm welcome and presence while at the same time providing a truly unique experience for visitors to Japan. In our own travels, it was always the places with friendly hosts that made all the difference. We offer hospitality and the benefits of local connections to help you get the most out of your experience in Uno.
Convenient Location
Less than a mile from the the Uno train station, ferry terminal, and Tamano Yu onsen, the Sadou Inn is a spacious oasis for you to take a moment for rest and relaxation amidst the often hectic Japan travel schedule. Be enchanted by the art islands of Naoshima and Teshima in the Seto Inland Sea and enjoy the amenities of our cute town.
Ikebana experience
Local ikebana artist, Haruka-san, provides a unique experience for our guests with her private ikebana lessons. From sharing the history and philosophy of the art form to helping you create your own ikebana piece, Haruka-san’s lessons will leave you with with a deep appreciation for this traditional Japanese art.
Monthly community events
Join in on our monthly community social events, crafts, seasonal festivities, and experience private tea ceremony at the Sadou Inn. (Advance reservations required).
